What are the entry requirements?
Entry requirements depend on the Digital Technology programme you choose. For the Foundation Diploma in Digital Transformation, you must generally be at least 16 years old and have a minimum of one GCE O-Level pass or equivalent or have completed an accepted level of secondary education. Other private or foreign qualifications may be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
For diploma programmes such as Digital Transformation, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity and Data Analytics, you must generally be at least 18 years old and hold a GCE A-Level, Year 12 qualification, IB Diploma, pre-university qualification, Polytechnic Diploma, BAC Foundation Diploma or another recognised equivalent qualification. Mature applicants may also be considered, and English-language requirements apply.
Can I build a portfolio while studying?
Yes. BAC’s Digital Technology programmes include practical activities and capstone projects that allow you to demonstrate the technical skills you develop during your studies. Depending on your programme, you may work on programming, cloud deployment, cybersecurity investigations, data analysis, visualisation and other applied technology projects.
For example, Cloud Computing students complete a capstone project in serverless application development, Cybersecurity students undertake a Cyber Crime and Investigation project, and Data Analytics students complete a technical capstone involving data collection, analysis, predictive modelling and data products. These projects can provide useful examples of your skills to showcase when applying for further study or technology roles.
Are internships part of the programme?
Internships are not guaranteed. BAC focuses on developing practical, career-relevant technology skills through specialised programmes, professional certificates, microcredentials and applied learning.
Students can also gain exposure to technologies and credentials associated with organisations such as Microsoft, AWS, Google and IBM through selected programmes and microcredentials. However, if an internship is important to your study plans, you should speak with BAC’s programme counsellors about opportunities available for your specific course.
What careers can I pursue?
A Digital Technology qualification can prepare you for careers across data, cybersecurity, cloud computing, software development and emerging technologies.
